Eternal Trinity, Godhead,
mystery deep as the sea,
You could give me
no greater gift
than the gift of Yourself.

— Catherine of Siena, 14th century

Three Frangipani (or Champa) flowers lie on sandy soil next to the samadhi shrine of Sadhu Om in Tiruvannamalai. The Frangipani is considered a deeply sacred tree symbolising immortality, purity and devotion. Though typically not used form worship in Shiva Temples, it can serve an offering in pujas and rituals at temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Goddess Lakshmi, and Lord Ganesha. —
