On this first anniversary of the Mahakumbha-bhishekam of Sri Ramaneswara and Matrubhuteswara Shrines, Pratistha-dina Samvatsara Abhishekam was performed at the Ashram. Daily Vedic recitations took place in Bhagavan’s Shrine and in the Granthalaya Auditorium for one week in the run-up to the homa conducted in the New Hall on 7th September. Sankalpa and Mahanyasa japa began at 5.30 am, followed by homa, purnahuti, procession and abhishekam in Mother’s and Bhagavan’s Shrines, a liturgical and sacramental reminder of the great event that took place on this day (according to nakshatra) one year ago. —
